How GolfAcross collects, uses and protects your information, and how you can exercise your choices.
1. Who is responsible
This Privacy Policy covers the GolfAcross website and GolfAcross apps for iOS and Android, including accounts, golf scoring, groups, competitions and paid features (the Services). GolfAcross ApS is responsible for personal information processed to operate these Services.

A golf club or event organiser may separately control information it collects for membership, event administration or its own records. Contact that organisation about its independent use of your information.
2. Information we collect
- Account and profile: name, email, login credentials, account identifiers, profile photo and details you enter, such as date of birth, gender, country, golf club, golf union membership number and handicap.
- Golf activity: rounds, scores, scorecards, playing partners, courses, statistics, rankings, competition entries, group memberships and organiser records. Other players, markers, clubs or organisers may enter scores or participant details about you.
- Content and support: posts, comments, messages, invitations, uploaded images and files, reports, and correspondence you send us.
- Purchases: products, subscription status, purchase receipts, transaction identifiers and payment status. Payment providers collect payment details through their checkout. We receive records needed to manage purchases, rather than your full payment card number.
- Device and usage: IP address, browser and operating system, app version, device or installation identifiers, usage events, diagnostic logs, errors and advertising interactions. Notification services process push tokens and account identifiers.
- Location: with device permission, location used for nearby courses, maps and golf distance features. Network services may infer approximate location from your IP address.
- Connected golf services: when you link or verify a golf membership, we process the membership and profile information returned by the relevant golf service to provide that connection.
3. How and why we use information
We use account, golf activity and purchase information to provide the Services you request: authenticate you, save and synchronise scores, run groups and competitions, display results, provide support and manage access to paid features. This processing is necessary to perform our agreement with you.
We use appropriate account, device and diagnostic information for our legitimate interests in securing the Services, preventing fraud and abuse, resolving disputes and understanding and improving reliability, balanced against your rights. We process records where necessary to meet legal obligations, including accounting and responding to valid legal requests.
Where required, consent is the basis for optional marketing, non-essential cookies, personalised advertising and device access. You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Accepting our Terms does not itself give consent to optional tracking.
4. Who can see your golf activity
Your profile, name, photo, scores, rankings and shared content may be visible to other players, group members, clubs and competition organisers depending on the feature and its visibility settings. Public leaderboards, public groups, shared event links and club information screens may make this information available to people without a GolfAcross account.
Only upload information you have the right to share. Consider the audience before posting or joining a public competition. Copies independently saved by others may remain outside our control.
5. Service providers and other recipients
We use providers to host data, deliver features, communicate with you, diagnose problems, process payments and display advertising. Depending on the platform and features used, these include:
- Back4App / Parse for backend account, golf and content data, and Vercel for website hosting and web analytics. Uploadcare delivers website images and receives network request information.
- Google Analytics and Sentry for usage measurement and error diagnostics. Sentry can record sampled session replays of page interactions, navigation and technical events to help diagnose issues.
- OneSignal for push notifications and Twilio SendGrid for email delivery and mailing lists.
- Apple App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat for in-app purchases and subscription entitlements; Stripe for supported payment flows.
- Google Maps and Mapbox for maps and course features, receiving network/device information and location used with those features.
- Google AdMob and Google AdSense for ads, including device identifiers, approximate location, consent signals and ad interactions. Personalised advertising can involve linking activity across apps or websites, subject to applicable consent requirements.
Our service providers must protect personal information under applicable law and contractual safeguards and process it only for authorised purposes. Some recipients, including payment platforms and advertising providers, also act as independent controllers under their own privacy notices. Read the notices from Google, Apple, Stripe, RevenueCat, OneSignal and Sentry.
We may disclose necessary information to authorities or advisers to comply with law, address fraud or protect legal rights, and to a successor if our business is reorganised or transferred, subject to applicable privacy protections.
6. Cookies, advertising and device permissions
The website and apps use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember settings and store golf data for synchronisation. Analytics and advertising integrations can also process usage data and identifiers.
You can manage cookies through your browser and withdraw permission for location, notifications, photos or camera access in device settings. Features needing that permission may then be unavailable. Uploaded files remain subject to our retention rules even if you revoke permission later.
Where an advertising consent message is displayed, use its choices to manage consent. On iOS, manage tracking permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, manage advertising privacy controls in device settings. You can also manage Google ad preferences at My Ad Center. These controls do not necessarily remove all ads or stop essential security processing. Contact us for help withdrawing consent. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe option; service messages may still be needed for your account.
7. Retention and security
We retain account and golf information while your account is active and it is needed to provide your history, groups and competitions. We retain support correspondence for as long as necessary to resolve the issue and related disputes. Diagnostic and advertising records are subject to the relevant provider settings and the purposes described above.
After a deletion request, information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised. Limited records may be retained where required for accounting, fraud prevention, security or legal claims, for the applicable statutory period or until the matter is resolved. Backup copies may remain until replaced through the backup cycle and are not intended for continued active use. You can request details of retention applicable to your records.
We use technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect information. No storage or transmission system is completely secure.
8. Delete your account and data
You can initiate account deletion in GolfAcross by opening your profile, going to Settings and selecting Delete user, then confirming. You can also request deletion without installing or signing in to the app using our account and data deletion page or by emailing support@golfacross.com.
A deletion request covers your account, profile and associated personal information, including golf activity and uploaded content, subject to the limited retention exceptions above. Shared records may need anonymisation to preserve other participants’ records. We may verify ownership before acting and will explain any information we must retain. You may also ask to delete particular data without closing your account.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel subscriptions billed by Apple, Google or another payment provider; manage those separately with the provider.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. You may object to direct marketing at any time. Contact support@golfacross.com; we may need proportionate information to verify your identity.
For requests under the GDPR, we respond without undue delay and normally within one month. If a lawful extension is needed, we explain why within that month. You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency at datatilsynet.dk or your local data protection authority.
10. International processing
Our providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where European data protection law applies, transfers must use an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, with additional safeguards where necessary. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.
11. Younger users
GolfAcross is intended for golfers aged 16 and above and is not directed at children. If you are under 16, use the Services only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where local law permits. Where parental consent is legally required, it must be obtained before personal information is provided. Parents or guardians can contact us to request review or deletion of a child’s information.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Services, providers or law. The date above identifies the current version. We will give additional notice of material changes and obtain new consent where required. For privacy questions or requests, contact:
